Justin Kelly
Justin Kelly is the resident copywriter for Marketing and Communications at Northwest Nazarene University (NNU). He was raised in Meridian, Idaho, and moved to Nampa when he married into a family of NNU alumni he refers to as the “Nampa Mafia”.
Before coming to NNU, Justin graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Political Science with an International Relations emphasis, where he specialized in the legacy of colonialism in the developing world. After graduating, he decided to do nothing with his degree and took the first job he was offered in Boise State’s Financial Aid office.
While working at Boise State, Justin furthered his education through attending the various writing and film workshops offered by the school, where he collaborated with film and creative writing professors to develop his writing and communication skills.
As Copywriter, Justin is responsible for writing the copy (as referenced in his title) for NNU’s many mass communications, advertisements and campaigns to serve student life and administrative functions. He aims to be a jack-of-all-trades, hoping to add a clever turn of phrase or remove the dreaded Oxford Comma from a form letter.
Really though, he thinks words are neat.
In his spare time, Justin loves spending time with his family and his three dogs (especially his golden retriever named Dolly Pawton), writing screenplays and fishing whenever he can.
He loves when people use the word literally figuratively and is unusually good at using chopsticks.
